Fall is undoubtedly a favorite season for many people. With the leaves changing, lots of holidays, colder weather, and pumpkin spice, what’s not to love? This season can foster a sense of love and brings forth bundles of warming activities that you, your significant other, your friends, or your family can all enjoy. Here are some fun-filled activities that can serve as relaxing breaks to enjoy and appreciate everything around you.

Pumpkin Patch:

Pumpkin here, pumpkin there, pumpkin everywhere. Enjoy a classic fall favorite by spending some time at a pumpkin patch finding the perfect pumpkin or gourd that feels like it was made just for you. After taking all your Insta-worthy pictures, take your pumpkin home and carve or paint it just in time for Halloween. Find inspiration from the many patterns posted online and on Pinterest to fit any style you want. Creating a jack-o-lantern can be an entertaining way to spend your time and end up with a personalized decoration for your dorm or apartment.

Movie Night:

Though movie nights are for any time of the year, something about the fall season wants you to curl up at home in your pajamas and a blanket with some hot chocolate and enjoy a holiday movie. As the weather gets colder, it can be nice to spend some nights in with the people you love. The fall season has the best movies for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you want to take it up a level, build a fort. Create the most comfortable space you can think of to enjoy a favorite or new movie. Here is a list of 30 popular fall movies to help you out.

Picnic:

Depending on the weather, a picnic is a classic for date night or a way to spend time outdoors. With the leaves changing colors, being outside can offer a spectacular view to take in. Go to Publix or your local store and have everyone pick two or three of their favorite foods which will lead to a wide variety of options that suit everyone’s taste. Bring a frisbee, soccer ball or spike ball to add an active component. Stay off your phones and enjoy each other’s presence and the beauty of the scenery around you.

Bake a pie:

Pie is a staple fall dessert perfect for any occasion, with the crumbly crust and sweet filling making it a delectable treat. While buying a pie from a grocery store may be the easy way out, making it can be an adventure in itself. With so many different types – apple, pumpkin, pecan, chocolate – there are plenty of recipes to attempt. If you have a natural love for being in the kitchen, this can be a time to discover or attempt a new recipe. You can start with these 50 different pie recipes from Food Network to fit whatever cravings you may have.

Bonfire:

With the colder weather, bonfires are a perfect way to snuggle up and stay warm. Bonfires in the fall set a warm ambiance and can set the tone for an evening full of s’mores, outdoor movies, campfire stories, songs and meaningful conversations. Gather some pillows and cozy blankets, and enjoy the warmth of the fire while looking at the stars with friends. Horseback riding:

Looking for an activity to take you out of your comfort zone? Horseback riding can offer a chance to take a ride on the wild side (literally) with a safely guided trip through the wondrous beauty of nature. A perfect idea for a romantic getaway or small outing, riding horses can be a majestic and adventurous experience. If you feel like stepping out of your comfort zone, this is just the right opportunity.

Apple Orchard:

Not a fan of pumpkin patches? No problem! Apple orchards are a perfect substitute and can offer a very similar experience to that of a pumpkin patch. Dress in a trendy fall outfit and go out with your friends for a day filled with apple picking, cider and fun memories. Apple orchards can provide gorgeous scenery for pictures and videos, and in the end, you can bring home your personally picked apples and eat them as a snack or make an apple pie out of them.

Farmers Market:

Farmers markets are a great serene Sunday afternoon type of activity. The wholesome environment makes a farmers market a warm place to spend an hour or two. Not only is it a great way to fill up on some delicious food, but it is also a great way to support small local businesses. It can be a perfect way to spend some alone time just appreciating the personal touch these owners add to their products. Stop by and discover some new favorite treats while also meeting some incredibly hardworking individuals.
