Flavors you Need to Try this Season

While the temperature in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, can’t decide if it wants to be summer or fall,  students can still get in the fall spirit with the Starbucks fall menu. These drinks are available at all participating Starbucks stores including the Student Center and Paul Bryant Dr. locations.

This year their menu highlights some staple fall drinks including the Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, satisfying the cravings of pumpkin lovers nationwide. Here is everything you need to know about the Starbucks fall menu – the sweet, the bitter and the just downright amazing.

Pumpkin Spice Latte

The PSL, Pumpkin Spice Latte. Whichever name you choose to call it, we all know this drink. This latte has a bold flavor with a kick of clove and spice. Normally served as a hot drink, it guarantees a kickstart to autumn vibes in the earlier months of fall. This coffee is perfect for spice-lovers and for those who crave more than their everyday coffee. A frappuccino option of the pumpkin spice latte is also available, which turns this famous drink into a cold, sweeter, blender version that is more suitable for warmer weather.

Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

This coffee drink features cold brew with a pumpkin cream cold foam on top. The foam sits atop the coffee creating the perfect combination of bitter and sweet with every sip. Compared to the Pumpkin Spice Latte, this coffee is less sweet and maintains the classic flavor of their cold brew, just with an added hint of pumpkin. It is perfect for the earlier months of fall due to its light taste and its iced component.

Iced Apple Crisp Oat Milk Macchiato

This iced drink features two espresso shots combined with oat milk and three pumps of apple brown sugar and spiced apple drizzle. This drink combines sweet and bitter notes from the combination of the brown sugar and espresso shots. The apple flavor adds an element of freshness to the drink that makes it not too sweet and not too harsh in flavor. It is the perfect combination of summer and fall, and again, is best when ordered in the earlier months of fall. A hot version of this drink is also available, which perfectly transitions into the later months.

Iced Chai Tea Latte (add pumpkin)

Traditionally known as the Iced Chai Tea Latte on the menu, adding pumpkin is an extra step that many Starbucks-lovers do to covert this drink into a fall staple. The base of chai makes this drink lower in caffeine, but just as satisfying as their other drinks. It is a sweeter drink that also tastes good with any milk alternative that you choose, making it extremely customizable. A grande in this drink is always gone too fast, so Alice recommends getting a venti. If you are not a fan of pumpkin, adding vanilla also adds an added level of flavor to this drink.

With the fall season quickly approaching and the drinks becoming more festive, stop at Starbucks on the way to class to try some fall classics paired with pastries like the Pumpkin Loaf. Cheers and happy sipping.
